Have you ever wondered why some people don't, "Get It" or in your most candid moment that you didn't, "Get It" either? Honestly...I have only recently, understood how to, "Get It". Maybe you are now asking, "What is the, "IT" that they, you, and I didn't get?" Allow me to explain the concept here. Do you enjoy waiting in lines, grocery, movie, airport, etc.? Well let me just tell you that I entered, I stood and I conquered the line. No, the line is not the, "IT". Be patient. While standing in lines, in the past, thoughts of cutting the line may have tempted you, but you probably recalled what happened to that kid that tried that in the high school lunch line, you can't push the line to move it faster either... same result, then yelling fire is not recommended either, because that would clear the people from behind the counter... no help there. The, "IT" is forthcoming, continue with the firm grip on your patience. No, becoming patient is not the cure, but by all appearances it is the result. My personal experience of, "Getting It", happened while standing in a checkout line, still several minutes from my turn. My cell phone rang, my wife wanted to know what was keeping me from my estimated time of arrival at home, which had already passed, my only answer could be, "I am waiting in line." That seemed to work, her response was, "Okay, see you when you get here, I love you." I holstered my cell then froze with my hand still on the cell, as my mind reran the current event. I had just received a get out of the dog house pass, free. From that point until now, standing in line releases me from the flow of a daily routine, its an unscheduled break, to enjoy those minutes in line. I had, "Gotten It", Now, yes now, the mystery or the, "IT" will be revealed. I shared my new perception of waiting in lines with a checkout clerk after she had said, "Thank you for being so patient, now it is your turn", only to have her reiterate, in the exact terms, "Yes, now it is your turn"! She didn't, "get IT". BOING,,,BOing...boing, just like the bungie jumper who is propelled toward something so unacceptable that he desires to be snapped back to the safety of his point of connection, she also snapped back to the safety of her point of connection, her belief that everyone gets their turn. How much better would she have felt the next time she was standing in line, waiting patiently if she had gotten, "IT". Will her belief of waiting to, "get her turn" continue to produce patience for her when tested time and time again. It did not work for me. This is, "IT", when you are faced with an issue that is in contrast to your current beliefs, resist the temptation to snap back to the safety of your connecting point of belief, rather, collect as much content as you can from that which appears so unacceptable, in this action of fearless openness, you may hear a truth that will allow you the benefit of a new perspective and thus, you too may experience, "Getting, IT!" Simply said: "Do not resist the people, places and things in life which you do not understand, for understanding does not come from knowledge, because knowledge is always limited by time, understanding comes in the form of intuitive knowing from the TIMELESS ONE.
Abundant Blessings, Dick
